Cara Brown values authenticity and embraces the adventure of travel. She believes it is important to see both the “can’t miss” destination icons, but also go off the beaten path to give deeper insight into the art, culture, people and nature of the places she visits. Seeing Michelangelo’s David for the first time was as meaningful to her as discovering the breathtaking waterfall tucked away in Førde, Norway. Visiting Medellín, Colombia, left an indelible mark with graffiti in Comuna 13 and the healing and hope it represented. It’s all about experiencing the destinations from the angles that speak to you.
Cara has a background ranging from corporate America to art restoration and is an artist at heart. She works in fused and stained glass art in her home studio and has a passion for all things glass. Not surprisingly, discovering local artisans and art on her travels is always a top priority.
A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS
MOST MEMORABLE TRIP
Self-drive trip through southern Norway.
BEST TRAVEL TIP
The majority of the trip will be wonderful, but there are always surprises that can be hard to handle. Try to adjust expectations at that moment and open up to the unintended possibilities it might bring. We had a ferry breakdown that forced us to take a 6 hour drive through the dark and ice covered mountains. It ended up bringing moonlit vistas of breath-taking beauty that we never would have experienced otherwise.

FAVORITE QUOTE
The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.
BEST GIFT I EVER RECEIVED
I was into ceramics years ago and had my wheel set up outside. I came home one day to find that my husband built a cubby in one of the spare bedrooms so that I could work inside. A beautiful surprise.
MOST INCREDIBLE TRIP I EVER PLANNED
One of my clients promised his wife, over 30 years before, that he would take her to see the Pope. He hadn’t traveled a lot and wanted a seamless experience where he didn’t have to worry about anything. The trip included food, flamenco, city tours and more. They started in Barcelona, went to Seville where their hotel was on the path of the Easter week processions and ended in Rome with a front row seat to experience Easter mass with the Pope. Helping a lifelong dream become reality, what an honor.
THE PERSON I LOOK UP TO MOST
The person who walks the walk and talks the talk. Giving back, living authentically, having an open mind and striving to be the best version of themselves.
CHARITY I SUPPORT
